Children's Museum with the Coles

Giovanni and I met our friends Holly and Abby at the Children's museum last Friday. It was very nice and Giovanni had a blast!! He played with bubbles, toy food, and went down the penguin slide about 50 times!! I will definitely be taking him back often. So, hopefully I will be posting more now that I got my camera back. However, I am obviously not happy at all with my camera (as you can see from the blurry pictures). Kodak replaced my camera with a "refurbished" camera. I'm in the market for a new camera and I just need to do a bit more research. Everyone here is good. Gio had his first official "playdate" today with our neighbors the Iakiris. Braylon (3) and Jack (10 months) came over with their mom Tamara and we had a nice time. The boys played with all of the toys downstairs. I think they had a good time, Braylon did not want to leave. Hope all is well, Grand Rapids is well on it's way to a total accumulation of 100 inches of snow! Thank God we got a snowblower, could you imagine George shoveling all of that!

Testing out our new webcam 1/16/09

Giovanni is definitely into our new webcam. We were able to videochat with Aunt Gina last week and I think we all enjoyed it. If you have one and want to chat let me know. Gio had a busy couple of weeks. He had a stomach bug and ended up with pneumonia (to clarify, he did not have the flu and he was not hospitalized). After two doses of antibiotics he was back to his old self. We had his 18 month well check up visit on Tuesday (yes, I did say 18 months and yes, I can't belive he is 18 months old already!!!). As for the stats, 33.5 inches (80%tile) 23.8 # (20%tile); I forget what his head measured, but it was 70%tile. His weight was down, but the doctor thinks because he was sick last week and he currently has 3 teeth coming in at once, she wasn't at all worried. However, since he is tall and skinny she said it was fine to start giving him a bit more fat in his diet. Why doesn't a doctor ever say that to me?? I apologize for lack of pictures. My camera that I got 1 year ago broke for the final time. I'm supposed to be getting a replacement. So, I am waiting on that. In the meantime, I've been trying to take pictures with my phone. I will hopefully have some of those uploaded in the next couple of days. I hope all is well.

The celebrity at Snip-its

I take Giovanni to a place called Snip-its to get his haircut. I think we are on his 6th haircut at 17 months. For anyone who doesn't know, Gio HATES getting his haircut. He cries the whole time and usually swings his arms. This then makes me have to literally hold him down for 4.5 minutes so the stylist can do her job. Amazingly, it always turns out great. When we went in the other day as I was checking in I noticed a picture on show that had someone who looked too familiar. This happy go lucky lad was showcase how wonderful it was to get your haircut at snip-its. I mentioned to the girl that I was in fact checking in this local celebrity. After the haircut I asked, "Are you sure you want to have this lover of haircuts as your poster child?"
So for all of you out there, don't be fooled by cute kids in picture frames!!
